HOW DO INTERNSHIPS WORK?

Service to the church
Hours per week – The church should set the intern’s schedule. A pastor or mentor should be specific about what is expected.
Participate in mentorship opportunities. This may include any aspect of ministry with an emphasis on the students' stated calling (preaching, outreach, youth, ect).
Be available to assist in the daily tasks around the church.
Maintain regular Christian disciplines:
Prayer
Bible reading
Bible study
Behavior
Housing: Maintain a good relationship with the host.
Dating: During the ministry internship, the student should refrain from becoming romantically involved with anyone in the church. Always keeping actions above reproach.
Actively pursue the lifestyle of someone in ministry.
Be productive in personal development.

Weekly Compensation
$300.00 (minimum) per week paid to students for living expenses on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
$600.00 (minimum) per week paid to IBC for the student’s fall tuition. This should be paid directly to IBC upon completion of the internship. (If the student is a recent graduate, the church should provide the total amount to the student at the conclusion of the internship.)
Mentorship
Time with the pastor and or various church ministers
Performance reviews
Trips (optional)
Travel expenses to Camp Meetings, Youth Camps, Youth Trips, etc
Support Student Educational Goals
The pastor/mentor must agree to support the student’s educational goal of completing their degree plan at Indiana Bible College.
Please note that all internships must be approved by the student’s pastor. IBC will help facilitate the connection between the student’s pastor and the host pastor.
What to expect after submitting an internship request:

Contact
Once you submit your request form, you will receive an email from an Indiana Bible College faculty member.

Interview
The IBC faculty contact will conduct an interview with you to get to know you and to understand your needs better.

Follow Up
After the interview, the IBC team will contact you to let you know whether we can place an intern with you at this time.
